Wisconsin Watercolor Way: January
18, 1999
January has been cold and snowy in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Christmas
is past and there is quiet and time to paint again. I'm revising the three
years of journals I've had on the web. As the journal is an ongoing account
I don't know where it will lead, but at least it is begun. I'm reworking
and retaining some of the pages I've had up, such as the Jack
Frost book, and note card images, but the remainder will be new. There
will also be an index, so paintings, prints, and notes for sale may easily
be found.
A new year begins. Megan and I have been walking through the woods to our
pond at The Frog Pond to feed the birds. The snow is deep and even the springs
are frozen over. The fox tracks are along their usual route, so the fox
I saw last fall has not left. Chickadees, juncos, woodpeckers, and cardinals
busily share the sunflower seeds and suet I've put out.

In the gallery much sifting and sorting of papers has taken place and
things have been stripped down for a new season. I'm starting with small
pastel sketches as preliminaries to larger watercolors.

This Saturday was warmer and we had a number of shoppers. I sold a painting
of onions and a number of the matted prints I have available
email me if you wish to purchase my artwork.
