Wisconsin Watercolor Way: Week of January 19, 1998

We've been having a snowy time--a new dusting of snow almost every day.My dog Megan and I have been walking over to the pond daily to replenishthe bird feeder and to cut up some of the brush pile I made when clearingthe hillside.

I've also been out in the snow making a couple of watercolor sketches fromwhich I've now made larger paintings. The first is of the spring that feedsmy pond. The spring remains unfrozen and little critters are swimming aroundin it. I'm calling the spring Kokarnag and I think I'll call the propertyitself Underhill--at least that is how I felt when I was sitting under thehill painting the spring.

The second sketch is of the stream running through the property. The streamis mostly covered with new fallen snow, but I can cross it on two steppingstones at the lower left. The tracks are made by a fox. I see new ones afterfresh snow and think I know where the den is.

I have finished and framed 20" x 36" paintings of both sketches. They are available for $200 plus shipping (USA dollars). (both sold as of4/01)

I've also made several new cards. This pansy card is one of them. Its price, like my other cards, is $2.25 plus shipping (USA dollars).
