Wisconsin Watercolor Way: December 21, 1996, Winter Solstice

Jack Frost, portion of a 22"x28" watercolor, not for sale.
Jack Frost came striding
onto my windowpane one day,
and painted his pictures of white and grey.
As the days grew shorter Jack got very bold,
completely heedless whether the sparrows were cold.
He put ice on the windows and snow on the ground,
and blew and blustered his way around.
While the year got old.
(continued)
This is my favorite day of the year because it is the shortest and from
now on the days will be getting longer. So after a festive dinner, in a
room lit by more than a dozen candles and antique lanterns, I decided to
put up the first portion of my Jack Frost poem and one of the illustrations
I painted for it.
email me if you wish to purchase my artwork.
